Alex is a farrier with over 14 years of experience in providing hoof care. He has spent most his career within the thoroughbred racing industry and is currently based in racings HQ, Newmarket.

Alex has developed a strong passion and determination to provide the highest level of service to his clients. He is continuously forward thinking and embracing innovation in order to be at the cutting edge of hoof care. Driven in his own personal development in both practical and theoretical skill, he shares his experience and training through international speaking engagements and workshops. He is efficiency focused with a great attention to the finest of detail.

As an advocate for high levels of farriery care, Alex also emphasises the importance of horse management when it comes to the feet and the overall performance of the racehorse. In an effort to understand hoof biomechanics and the links between hoof health and performance Alex took a deep dive into the understanding of barefoot rehabilitation. His research study titled “The Morphological changes in thoroughbred racehorse feet following a period of barefoot rehabilitation explored this area and highlighted significant changes that could lead to a reduced number of hoof injuries and better performance in thoroughbred racehorses.
